I got the chance to meet up with my 2nd year buddy Scott today. He gave me a starbucks gift card and some advice on taking the final exams. Apparently, it's tradition that the 1st years don't give anything back to their 2nd years in return because it would be our duty to carry that giving spirit to the next class after us. It just felt strange to be constantly getting and not giving anything in return.
After class, I was surprised to see a muffin in my school mailbox. Definitely made my day. People never make stuff for me or surprise with anything, so it was refreshing. Turns out, my friend Char was kind enough to share one of her muffins with me that she baked. It's nice to see a muffin rather than another set of course notes.
